ABOUT BALEARIC BAILE:
The Balearic current was a brief cultural movement on Ibiza in the 1980s and 1990s.
Sunset and sunrise parties were held on hidden beaches and in caves, where the art scenes of France, Spain, and the UK met the island’s hippies. In open-air clubs like KU and Amnesia, people danced under the stars or into the early morning, carried by the eclectic selections of local DJs – blending hip house, zouk, dub, ethno, new beat, and global rhythms.
A free-spirited and refined sound that eventually became known as the Balearic Beat.
