(Sex)Work It!

Frascati, Nes 63, 1012 KD Amsterdam, Netherlands

(Sex)Work It! is not here to behave. It is here to disrupt, to challenge, and to provoke. This is a space where sex workers take over Frascati’s stage as creators. This program rejects the tired separation of art and sex work, as if one were ‘culture’ and the other a ‘taboo’. Throughout history, sex work has mobilized revolutions, shaped aesthetics, and crafted stages. Sex workers challenge concepts of power, intimacy, labor, and vulnerability. Sex work is performance, choreography, and dramaturgy. It is a craft. So where does art end and sex work begin? Can they exist without each other? And who decides? Join us for the first (Sex)Work It! at Frascati. In collaboration with PIC (Prostitution Information Center), we are building a platform where sex workers can experiment with new art forms, share skills, collaborate, create, deconstruct, and reinvent their own narratives on their own terms. This isn’t ‘representation’. It’s self-authored expression, with no apologies, and no cultural gatekeeping. Line Up: Taking over the stage this first edition are: Maggie Saunders, social designer, stripper, and the mind behind Striptopia, joined by the irresistible stripper and performer Mary Hoochie. We'll also be welcoming performer, sex worker and activist Maria 007, as well as Performystica, who works as a choreographer, maker, and pleasure-practice instigator. The evening also features the projection of the videoartwork Behind the Window by Vera Rodríguez & Nayra Green.
