Doors: 20h, Start: 20.30h TIMESHIFT was founded in 1981 by the two Czech born Austrian brothers, Ivan and Libor Miksovic. Their 1st Concert took place on 20. January 1982 in Vienna. Ivan the lead vocalist, back then 16 and his brother Libor the guitar player and singer, 15 began to play more shows throughout that year. The boys began writing their own material at an early age with all sorts of drummers and bass players supporting their musical venture. In Sept 1982 the big change in the line-up came along when Walter Cikan back then 16 and already an outstanding bass player, joined TIMESHIFT. At around the same time Gunther Joksch completed the new line-up as TIMESHIFTs drummer. The band of teens began to play more shows and Libor and Ivan advanced with their song writing skills. In autumn 1983 they wrote the Garage Rock Cult classics “Dance the Beat & The Fall Of Europe”. The two songs were released as a single in 1984 on ‘Ton Um Ton’ Records and put TIMESHIFT on the map. After a New Year Gig in Vienna the Band got acquainted with New York Radio Dj Bill Gregory who took their single to NYC to support the Band with airplay on his radio station. The Band befriended also Christian Brandl who was the bass player in Viennas Cult Punk Band CHUZPE. On TIMESHIFTs 1985 1st Mini LP Chris Brandl back then a strong supporter of the band wrote the following: Call it Underground, Beat, Garage Rock, Psychedelia – TIMESHIFT are all this and more. 5 new original songs were recorded In 1986 a second MINI-LP with 3 songs written by the two brothers was released with a new line-up. Produced by Fred Jakesch. Timeshift decided to take on a new drummer Uli Binder who also played at Die Pinguine. In 1987 their 1st LP was recorded and the Band continued with more gigs. In 1990 the band experienced their worst nightmare when Ivans brother Libor commited suicide. Ivan decided to close the chapter on Timeshift and moved to New York City, where he founded a new Band the Hydroulic
