Wat in 1975 begon als een experimenteel optreden vol tape-manipulaties, ruis, machines en dadaïstische interventies groeide uit tot een project dat industriële muziek, post-punk en talloze elektronische stromingen diepgaand heeft beïnvloed. In 2026 keren Stephen ‘Mal’ Mallinder en Chris Watson terug op het podium om 50 jaar Cabaret Voltaire live te vieren, een halve eeuw na het debuut in de Sheffield Students’ Union. Vijftig jaar later klinkt hun werk nog altijd urgent in een wereld vol sociale onrust en politieke ruis. De jubileumshows brengen een boog door hun oeuvre: van vroege experimenten en Rough Trade/Factory-releases tot Doublevision-videokunst en samenwerkingen met Adrian Sherwood en Marshall Jefferson. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso.
