De band werd in 1982 gevormd en maakte snel naam als bekende vertegenwoordiger van de Dunedin sound, een Nieuw-Zeelandse muzikale beweging die in het begin van de jaren tachtig hielp bij de oprichting van indierock als genre. De band bestaat inmiddels al veertig jaar en speelt al die tijd met dezelfde vier leden. Naast het touren door onder andere Noord-Amerika, Europa, Australië en hun thuisbasis Nieuw-Zeeland hebben ze ook elf studioalbums uitgebracht. In hun meest recente album 'Corner Coming Up', dat ze afgelopen oktober uitbrachten, omarmen ze de vertrouwde janglepop en indierock en bewijzen ze na al die jaren nog steeds hun relevantie. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
