Workshop with Carla

A Damn Good Whack Sandwich! The workshop is conceived as a creativity class. Rather than teaching forms, the class focuses on expanding one’s artistic self-awareness. The class begins with awakening our raw, instintive body, allowing ourselves to listen to real-time curiosity with no technical, dance-style-specific framework. From there, we move on to exploring qualities such as body flow and isolations, connecting them with Whacking armwork technique. The session also explores posing and character building through cinematic sound and imagery based on Carla's inspirations. We will facilitate each other’s exploration by working, composing and improvising in pairs, groups and individually.
