Seit 2018 sorgen Johnny ＆ the Yooahoos für frischen Wind in der europäischen Bluegrass- und Folk-Szene. Was als Auftritt auf kleinen Bühnen in Süddeutschland begann, hat die vier Musiker mittlerweile auf internationale Festivals in Frankreich, Irland, den Niederlanden, Österreich und der Schweiz geführt. 2025 folgte der bisher größte Meilenstein: Als Gewinner des IBMA International Band Grant tourten die Yooahoos fünf Wochen lang durch die USA – mit legendären Stationen wie der Grand Ole Opry in Nashville und dem Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in New York. Musikalisch setzen die Yooahoos auf pure Akustik: Banjo, Mandoline, Gitarre, Kontrabass und dreistimmiger Gesang verschmelzen zu einem Sound, der Tradition und Moderne verbindet. Mal energiegeladen und roh, mal lyrisch und atmosphärisch – immer jedoch authentisch, nahbar und mitreißend.
