Es erklingen Originalwerke des argentinischen Meisters sowie eigens für diese Besetzung arrangierte Stücke rund um das Bandoneon, das Piazzollas Lieblingsinstrument war. Ein Tangoerlebnis, zwar ohne Tanz, doch im Sinne des Komponisten: »Für mich war der Tango immer mehr für das Ohr als für die Füße.«
