Tijdens de serie Dutch Jazz Heritage zet het Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw de schijnwerpers op legendarische (Nederlandse) jazzmomenten en jazzartiesten, in samenwerking met het Nederlands Jazz Archief. In dit concert brengt het orkest samen met Madeline Bell een eerbetoon aan de Amerikaanse jazz zangeres Sarah Vaughan. Vaughan werd tot de grootste in het genre gerekend. ‘Een gekmakend mooi concert’, schreef NRC Handelsblad over haar optreden in Het Concertgebouw van 1958, waar in dit concert op wordt teruggeblikt.
