Hij stond in het epicentrum van de Amerikaanse singer-songwriter-explosie. Naast zijn eigen klassiekers schreef hij samen met Lou Reed, Townes Van Zandt, Rick Danko en Bob Weir (Grateful Dead). En zijn liedjes zijn gecoverd door vele artiesten, waaronder Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Linda Ronstadt, Fairport Convention en Peter, Paul ＆ Mary. Hij is te zien in een Andy Warhol-film 'Space' en in vele muziekdocumentaires. In het voorjaar van 2025 zag zijn nieuwe album 'Dance of Love and Death' het levenslicht. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein. Restaurant Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show.
