EventSpotter is shutting down

EventSpotter will shut down on November 30, 2026. After that, the site and all stored data, including accounts and saved events, will be deleted.

How it started

I built EventSpotter in early 2022 to find events in one place, without Facebook, Instagram and the like. At first it was just for me. After feedback from friends I made it public.

Why it ends

Usage has stagnated. Most people prefer social media for finding events.
Costs went up because I wanted the site to be stable for the public, and it earns nothing.
Venue websites change regularly, which means regular adaptions on my side. Adding more venues takes time too, and we would probably never cover all of them.
I also built a social media automation at an organizer's request. When it was ready for testing, I never heard back and the work went unused. That kind of effort is hard to justify without any return.

Thank you

EventSpotter was a great project for me and I learned a lot. Thank you to everyone for the support, help, visits and feedback.
