Fux’ Sonate à 3 Hofkapellmeister Johann Josef Fux war Jahrzehnte der wichtigste Musiker in der spätbarocken Kaiserstadt Wien. Sein kunstvoller Stil war Vorbild für seine Zeitgenossen und wirkte bis Mozart auf die nächsten Generationen. Neben der Weiterentwicklung des Kontrapunktes war es auch die gesangliche Melodiebildung, die den Weg zur Wiener Klassik ebnete. Seine Triosonaten sind in ganz Europa verbreitet und wurden allgemein bewundert. Kurzweilig, virtuos, klangvoll und voll genialer Einfälle erfreuen sie auch heute noch Jung und Alt.
