Wir beginnen unser Programm diskursiv-festlich. Nach dem Opening der Eröffnungsausstellung Islands of Loners wird Anna Durnová (Universität Wien) als Expertin für die Soziologie der Gefühle eine Einführung ins Thema geben. Im Gespräch mit ihr wollen wir folgenden Fragen nachgehen: Wie fühlt sich Einsamkeit als politisches Gefühl an? Wo liegen die strukturellen und ökonomischen Ursachen der Pandemie der Vereinzelung? Und wer kann dieses Gefühl politisch nutzbar machen? Ein Konzert des Klarinettisten Vincent Pongracz eröffnet dann den musikalischen Teil des Abends. Karaoke mit Einsamkeitsliedern, Songs von Franjazzco und Inseldrinks finalisieren das Willkommensdelirium auf der Island of Loners. Im Vorfeld der Eröffnung, am 12.5.2026 um 18:00, findet bereits die Diskussion Interoception: Artistic Explorations of Loneliness, Aging, Grief, and Death des Zentrums für Interdisziplinäre Alterns- und Care-Forschung (CIRAC) statt. Es diskutieren Garry Barker (Leeds Arts University), Katja Heitmann (Tilburg, NL), Iza Kavedžija (University of Cambridge), and Sonja Rinofner-Kreidl (Uni of Graz).
